Poland
Poland is the single biggest destination for UK used clothing. Its sorting plants and busy second-hand shops create steady demand for original UK collections, shoes and accessories, and imports grew 31% in 2023.
Top-grade, original UK stock, collected every week from more than 10,000 households through Anglo Doorstep Collections and supplied straight to importers, sorting plants and wholesalers in Poland, Ukraine, Chile, Bolivia, Tunisia, Morocco, the UAE, Slovakia and Czechia.
Anglo Recycling has been giving unwanted clothing and household goods a second life since 2012. Our sister service, Anglo Doorstep Collections, is the UK’s largest doorstep charity collection company. It covers England and South Wales and raises money for charity with every bag collected.
That gives export buyers something rare: one direct source of top-grade stock made up of real UK donations, collected from the doorstep, brought into our Surrey warehouse and loaded for export without passing through a chain of middlemen. Fewer hands means fresher stock, more consistent loads and clearer pricing.
Whether you run a sorting plant, a wholesale business or a chain of second-hand shops, we can build a regular supply around what your customers buy.
Every load is top-grade UK stock: good-quality, wearable and usable items donated by UK households. Tell us what sells in your market and we’ll put together loads to match, from clothing and shoes to books, toys and bric-a-brac.
Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing for every season: coats, jackets, knitwear, denim, shirts, dresses and sportswear.
Adult and children’s footwear, from trainers and boots to heels, sandals and football boots, kept together in pairs.

We supply importers and wholesalers in nine focus markets across Europe, Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East. Here’s what we know about each one, and what we can supply.
Poland is the single biggest destination for UK used clothing. Its sorting plants and busy second-hand shops create steady demand for original UK collections, shoes and accessories, and imports grew 31% in 2023.
Ukraine imported US$170m of used clothing in 2023, up 28%, and more of it came from the UK than anywhere else. Demand is strongest for warm outerwear, knitwear, footwear and children’s clothing.
Chile is one of the world’s largest importers of used clothing, with the Iquique free zone acting as a distribution hub for the region. We supply Chilean importers with clothing, shoes and household goods.
Bolivia prohibits the import of used clothing, so we do not offer textiles to Bolivian buyers. We can supply other pre-loved goods, including books, toys, kitchenware, bric-a-brac and tools, subject to local import rules.
Tunisia has a long-established fripe industry built on dozens of licensed sorting factories, with tens of thousands of tonnes of used clothing imported every year and part of it re-exported. We supply licensed importers and sorting operators.
Second-hand friperie markets are part of everyday shopping in Moroccan cities. Imports are licensed by the Ministry of Industry, and we work with licensed importers to supply clothing, shoes and accessories.
The UK was the UAE’s biggest supplier of used clothing in 2023. As a major re-export hub, the UAE serves buyers across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, making it a strong market for mixed UK loads.
Slovakia has an active second-hand retail sector and close sorting and trading links with neighbouring Czechia. UK stock suits Slovak wholesalers and shops looking for a dependable supply of clothing and accessories.
Czechia imported US$19.9m of used clothing in 2023, up 7%, and the UK is already one of its main suppliers. Second-hand chains and independent shops buy clothing, shoes and household goods.
